Good morning – and happy Friday! Let’s get right to the amazing finds for this week:
I envision this thing painted in a fresh new color, maybe a navy or an olive green? There are some really pretty intricate details on it, and I think that with some new knobs and a new color it could look nice and modern. I love that only one of the drawers has the scrollwork on it, and I’d love to get this for our guest room for when we (way far in the future) finally get Ranger’s kennel out of the guest room and into a more convenient place. This guy has a ton of potential – and that price is pretty much amazing.
I want this bookshelf – bad. Our old Billy bookcases are starting to look a little boring to me, and I’d love something a little more unique looking for our already awfully boring office. This little guy wouldn’t be large enough to take the place of the two bookshelves we currently have in there, but it would definitely help us eliminate one of them, and it would look oh so much better. I (of course) love the mid-century lines, and those cute little legs are to die for!
This chair obviously needs quite a bit of love but oh em gee wouldn’t it be adorable with a makeover? Some punchy, patterned fabric and a coat of paint and it would look absolutely amazing. If it was a bit cheaper, I probably wouldn’t be able to resist snatching it up, but $70 is a bit steep for me for a chair that needs so much work. But, it would totally be worth all of the effort!
I really should stop looking at Craigslist unless I have a ton of money to spend. Because oh my goodness I want this bench so, so badly. Corey and I tossed around the idea of getting a bench for our dining room table for quite a while before we settled on the chairs that we have now, but this bench makes me want to change my mind and bring the bench idea back! It’s the perfect length for our (extra, extra long) table, and I love the rustic charm – and those legs! I’m seriously swooning over here, y’all.
This table is the sort of table that would never really fit into our decor…but that I wish our decor was cool enough for it to fit in with. It looks like it came straight out of an Anthropologie catalog, and I can just imagine it surrounded by some amazing chairs and decorated with some whimsical dishes. Stunning. And an incredible, incredible price for such a unique and sturdy piece! I wonder how Corey would feel about a tree stump table in our kitchen? I might not actually be cool enough to have one, but I can pretend, right?!
This isn’t actually a single find, rather it’s an ad I found for a large antique warehouse in Austin. I’ve mentioned that Corey and I are looking for some good antique and thrift stores to frequent, and this one looks very promising. I found it just in time for the weekend, too – maybe we’ll stop by!
And that’s it for this week! Hopefully I can restrain myself from actually buying that stump table…or the bookcase…or that bench…oh, the bench.
How do you feel about benches at dining room tables?
