I can’t even begin to tell you how excited Corey was to do this week’s Friday Finds. For some reason he has been begging me to do Atlanta ever since we started the reader requested Friday Finds, but I told him I wanted to go in the order they were received in, so I’ve made him wait.
I’m so mean, right? Well his time has finally come and we’re in Atlanta today, thanks to my friend Layla. I’ve always said that I want to go to Georgia to visit her (and because I’ve always wanted to see Atlanta!) but after this week I’m even more determined to make it there – these pieces are fabulous!
This desk reminds me a lot of my sister’s bright yellow sewing desk that I love so much and I would love to get my hands on it and copy her project exactly. Because who doesn’t love a yellow desk?
I think this is absolutely adorable. Corey and I have been searching for the perfect piece to go in our kitchen for some extra storage, and this guy totally fits the bill. I love that it has a little bit of a country, homey feel to it but could easily be updated to be a bit more modern, and I love that the previous owners already added chalkboard paint to it. I don’t know that I’d leave the chalkboard paint where it is, but I might add it to the back of the shelves. I also LOVE the butcher block countertop – it would tie in with our kitchen island perfectly!
Some of you are questioning me right now. But, um, I kind of love these lamps. I know they’re completely ridiculous and over the top, but I think that’s exactly why I love them so much! These would look great paired with a modern drum shade, and I think they would add a really fun, vintage-y touch to any room. Plus, at $50 for the pair they’re a great deal and it wouldn’t break the bank to just try them out and see how they look in the room! I would love to try one of these out in our living room – the shade of green would coordinate really nicely with our curtains, and the rest of the room is so modern that something like this would be perfect to offset that a bit!
I think we all know by now that I’m completely and hopelessly obsessed with dressers. I love how versatile they are, and I love thinking up unexpected places and ways to use them. The price on this dresser is amazing, and I love the detailing on the doors. It looks like one of the drawer pulls is missing, but I’d probably replace them all anyways, so that’s no concern! This guy would look great either painted or left alone – the wood looks like it’s in good shape – and I think if it were mine I’d probably use it in our entryway. We need something with a little more bulk to it, and I think this would fit in nicely!
Oh. Em. Gee. Less than a hundred bucks for this absolutely breathtakingly amazing dresser? Now THIS might be worth the drive to Atlanta. Seriously – I’m contemplating it. I wouldn’t change a thing about it – I would just snatch it up and plop it down somewhere in my home – I would make room for it! I’m in love.
This is another amazing dresser, although it isn’t quite as much of a steal as the last one. I love the honey color on it, and I think the hardware is great. Why is it that all of the amazing dressers are in cities halfway across the country from me?!
Is this nightstand completely adorable, or what? I’m kind of sad that there is only one of them and not a pair! I love the lines on it, and I love how it basically looks like a mini dresser. This table is more or less exactly what Corey and I are looking for to use as nightstands in our guest room, so I’m sad that it isn’t on my Craigslist! If I was buying this to use in our guest room, we’d either paint it a glossy black or kelly green (still trying to convince Corey that the green is a good idea!), but I love the color that it is already, too!
And now we officially have yet another city that I feel compelled to move to. Or at least visit…with a UHaul truck.
I’m really looking forward to the weekend this week – last weekend was incredibly busy and I hardly had a minute to rest, but we have no plans for this weekend yet – my favorite kind of weekend! What are you up to this weekend? April Fools Day is on Sunday…planning any fantastic pranks? Oh, and are you drooling over Atlanta as much as I am?
