I spend an embarrassing amount of my free time every day browsing through Craigslist. It’s true…I have a problem.
It’s become even worse since I’ve discovered my newest addiction, CraigsEasy. You just click a button and all of the photos from the listings on Craigslist are pulled for you and put into one pretty little page so you can just scroll down and see all the pictures without having to click on each individual listing. It’s amazing.
Because CraigsEasy makes it so simple to look at everything, I usually visit at least three different Craigslist city websites almost daily and find tons and tons of things I want to buy. It’s always a bit sad because not only can I not buy these pretty things, but I feel sad that I have to just close my browser and move on from them.
But! I figured out a way to make myself feel at least marginally better about all of the time I waste looking at pretty things I can’t have – I’m going to share them with you! This way, I’m doing something productive with all of my browsing AND I get to do more than just close the browser and walk away.
So, starting today, Fridays will be the day where I share the random things I’m drooling over on Craigslist, in thrift stores, or wherever I happen to see them. (but don’t worry – this won’t become a collection of random West Elm and Crate & Barrel pieces…I’m sticking to thrifted finds only!)
So, let’s get this started! Here are some of my favorite finds from Craigslist this week.
O.M.G. There are no words for how badly I want this. I’d put some pretty, punchy wallpaper in the back of the top part and stain the whole thing a nice deep brown…or maybe paint it white…or maybe just leave it as it is. This piece is amazing.
Love this dining set! I’d paint the chairs a glossy white to break up all the wood. Check out those legs – gorgeous!
These guys were only $50 – for BOTH! I’d probably remove the wheels and then just leave ’em as they are. They’re pretty much perfect.
I’m not a fan of the hutch…but that buffet? Amazing! I’d probably replace the stuff in the door with something different – maybe a pop of color or a patterned wallpaper? I love, love, love this piece. (Can you tell I have a thing for the mid-century modern style right now? Obsessed.)
Replace the bronze hardware on this thing (or hell, just paint it silver) and you’re good to go. LOVE the glossy finish!
I’d love to have a vanity, and this one is pretty perfect. I love how the mirror can be hidden! I’d replace the hardware and paint it up in a bright, glossy white, and I’d be a happy girl!
I have a thing for leggy tables right now, and this one totally hits the spot. I’d give it some new drawer pulls and a permanent spot somewhere in my house. It’d work in the living room or a bedroom, really. I love it!
And those are my favorite finds from this week!
What do you think of the new series? Fun, or totally boring? Also, and more importantly, are you as obsessed with Craigslist as I am? I can’t be the only one!
