Now that the weather is finally warming up a bit (and it’s not yet so hot that I feel like I’m melting), Corey and I have been spending a ton of time in our backyard. We’ve had a blast working on taking care of our plants, keeping the lawn nice and manicured, and just hanging out while the dogs run around.
Since I cleaned up and re-painted our outdoor table, we actually have a pretty decent area to sit and hang out (and fully plan to start eating some meals out there soon!) but we are constantly dreaming of turning our backyard into an extension of the house, with a big, comfy couch, a nice sized table to eat at, and some sort of shading in the form of an pergola or an umbrella.
We are by no means ready to buy anything yet, but the hope is that by next summer we’ll be able to start turning our backyard into a little oasis. For now? I’ll just keep drooling over the amazing outdoor furniture I’m finding all over the place – I thought I’d do a quick round-up of some of my favorites today so you can all dream with me!
Drool. I love this dining set – it’s so rustic and weathered looking, and I like that it’s a relatively neutral base so you can layer in fun accessories and pillows. I also adore the zig-zag rug! Another favorite? The little hanging terrariums on the umbrella are such a fun little touch and they add a lot of visual interest to the otherwise plain umbrella. This is definitely a set that I want every single piece of. On a slightly unrelated note, isn’t all of that greenery behind the table amazing? I’d love a wall of leaves like that!
I am such a big fan of the curved back on all of this seating – the style is so cute and it’s definitely different from a lot of the outdoor dining sets you can usually find. I also really love the lights strung up above the table, and again with the amazing foliage in the background!
I love how fun and whimsical outdoor plates tend to be. The nautical look of these plates makes me really happy – I’m such a huge fan of red and blue together like this! The dachshund plate is particularly adorable!
Can you even imagine how amazing this would look set up on a patio? I adore the breezy white curtains, and this is the perfect size for a small couch and some comfy chairs – it provides just the right amount of shade and would make the entire area look like it belongs in a fancy resort instead of a backyard! And, really, you can’t beat that price. I’m seriously tempted by this guy!
I want this oh so bad. It’s crazy, insanely expensive and I can’t imagine myself ever spending 800 bucks on one outdoor chair but I so wish that I could. This looks like it would be so nice to curl up in, and I love the texture and shape of it. I’m in loooove.
This one is slightly cheaper than the West Elm one, but it looks much larger, like it’s made for two people. I want to grab a book and a frozen margarita and spend an afternoon hanging out on this guy. Love, love, love! Of course, I’d have to replace those plain, white pillows with something much more colorful!
I want some of these so badly! Corey and I were just discussing the other day how we’d love to get something like this to plant a bunch of herbs – it’s such a unique look and I love how the planters aren’t giant but still provide the opportunity to plant a bunch of different things. Of course, as we all know, I’m absolutely hopeless at keeping plants alive and would immediately kill anything I planted in here. So it’ll just have to be a dream!
I’m so obsessed with this chair. I love the bright kelly green, and I think a bunch of these would look fantastic pulled up to a dining table. Of course, they’re crazy-expensive but I bet it wouldn’t be too difficult to find some similar metal chairs on Craigslist and spray paint them in this awesome color!
I love everything about this set. The super cozy-looking round chair, the awesome sectional, and the bright green table. Love, love, love. I’m a huge fan of wicker furniture outdoors, especially when it has such modern lines. This collection is all a bit on the expensive side, but if I could I would snatch up every single thing shown here in a second.
I think the gray color of the wicker in the set is fun (and I usually am not a fan of brown at all, so any way I can get a different color wicker is great!) and I love how the lines in this furniture are a good mix of traditional and modern. I’d love to add some super bright pillows to all of the pieces – I’m a big believer that you can’t have enough color in an outdoor area like this! I also love how this one has a rug with it – it makes it feel so much more like a room and less like you’re outside.
This little collection is not quite as drool-worthy as the choices from West Elm and Crate & Barrel, but the price is so tempting! This set could be dressed up with some cute pillows, and probably a different coffee table, and it would really look nice! I, of course, love the wicker, and I’m a big fan of the modern lines!
I have a feeling I’m going to have a very, very hard time actually making a decision when it comes time for us to buy some furniture for our patio – there are so many amazing options out there! Of course, I’ve got plenty of time to decide – I’ll just keep dreaming for now.
