I always get a bit nervous when I open reader requested Friday Finds and see that the reader doesn’t feel like they can EVER find anything good on their Craigslist, and they’re convinced I can do better. It’s a lot of pressure, you know? And I’m always nervous that I’ll end up disappointing someone.
It was no different this week when I opened up Ashley’s email and saw her request to find some dining room furniture for her in Central New Jersey. She said she always has a hard time finding anything, and she is hoping I can help out. Cue the nerves.
Thankfully, I had absolutely no reason to be nervous. Central NJ was absolutely fantastic, and once again, I want to drive out there just to pick up way more furniture than I could ever hope to fit into my home.
Um, that’s $25 each for these two amazing benches. They would look fantastic pulled up to a dining room table and painted or stained to match the rest of the chairs – I’m a sucker for a bench at a dining room table. Beautiful!
(Craigslist Central NJ – $100)
These aren’t for a dining room, but I seriously love these little side tables. And again with the amazing deals – $100 for all three of them! I would love to have one of these for our living room next to the couch!
(Craigslist Central NJ – $10/each)
I love these chairs! They have a great, unique feel to them and I love the woven look of the seats. I’d paint ’em white (of course), but I think they would go great in with almost any dining table!
(Craigslist Central NJ – $250)
I’m not in love with this as a set, but I love each of the pieces individually! The table has great bones, and it would look fantastic painted or stained in a different color (I’m not a huge fan of the super light honey tone these pieces currently are), and the chairs would look great pulled up to a more rustic, vintage-y table.
(Craigslist Central NJ – $150)
Here’s another piece that isn’t necessarily meant for a dining room, but I am head over heels completely in love with it. I love the rustic feel, I love the vintage hardware, and I LOVE the cute little locks on each drawer. I wouldn’t change a thing about this dresser – I love everything about it.
(Craigslist Central NJ – $100)
OH MY GOODNESS. Y’all. SERIOUSLY. I am going to try not to gush here, but it’s going to be hard. That whole dining room set (INCLUDING THE BUFFET) is $100. For ALL OF IT. I might cry if one of you doesn’t get it right now (assuming it hasn’t already been snatched up by the time this posts). And, um, as a small little added bonus it is completely and totally gorgeous. I’m obsessed.
(Craigslist Central NJ – $149)
Okay, the photos here are awful. But it’s a similar deal to the last one – a beautiful table, six chairs, and a buffet/hutch for a ridiculously cheap price. This one is a bit more traditional than the last one, but with a little paint and some new fabric on the chairs, it could be fantastic!
Whew. I have to say, I think Central NJ knocked it out of the park this week. Love, love, love. Ashley, I hope you see something you like here – be sure to let us know if you buy anything!

So here’s a thought. I’ve never used Craigslist to find furniture. I’m not sure if I’d even know how to go about it. Maybe the reason you get requests where people “can’t find anything good” is because we’re not searching properly? Could you do a post about how to search for furniture online? I would be very interested in that!

I love that idea, and I’ve actually been thinking about it lately, so I will probably get on that soon!!

Those first benches… if only I were in NJ! I would totally pick those up.

I grew up with dining room chairs a lot like the light wood ones! Even though I don’t love them now, they look like what dining room chairs are “supposed” to look like to me. ๐

Haha, I love the bones of the chairs – gorgeous! I’m just not a big light wood fan

DANG those are great finds! I like the idea of using one of the benches at the foot of the bed too. Depending on the height, they would look great under a window or two with some fabric and batting wrapped on the top for seating….or dog lounging ๐

I’m really digging those benches!! I would love to do a project like you guys did with the bench at the foot of your bed.

I didn’t even think of using them for something like that – that would look awesome too!
