Happy Memorial Day! I still have a couple of days of work left just to wrap things up, but school is over. I can’t even process my excitement. I’m literally buzzing I’m so happy.
I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited for summer.
One of my very favorite things about the changing of each season is that our family has a fun little tradition of creating seasonal bucket lists – we’ve been doing it for a few years now, and it’s always a really fun way to focus on the fun of each season and fully embrace all it has to offer. It helps me remember to slow down, soak it all up, and actually enjoy the season rather than rushing through it. Because Lord knows I sometimes get a little distracted and just can’t wait for the next big thing to happen.
I can’t be the only one.
Sometimes it’s easy to forget what’s on our list, so we like to print them out and put them on the fridge so we can be reminded of all the things we’d like to do. But, sometimes if I’m feeling lazy I just save them on my computer (or to Pinterest!) and reference them from time to time. No matter how you use it, it’s a fantastic way to make sure you don’t miss out on any seasonal fun.
Plus, it’s a great excuse to go out for some ice cream.
I mean, the list says you have to.
I am so pumped to get started!
There’s just something about summer that makes my soul really happy. I love the freedom, the ice cream…I don’t even mind the sweltering heat for the first few weeks. (Ask me again in August, I’ll have a different story.)
I think I’m mostly excited to get out of the house and try a few new things (we always go to the same parks!) and to have some adventures. Summer, to me, is all about trying new and exciting places and doing things you’ve never done before, so I’m hoping we’ll get a good chance to branch out and stretch our creativity a little bit.
I’d love some more ideas – what are some of your favorite activities? Anyone else gearing up for a big life change this summer?!
