How to Clean a Paintbrush

Getting your paintbrush clean after a painting project can be tough.  Here are 5 quick tips for how to make the job easier (and be as thorough as possible!)

Cleaning a brush starts DURING the project. Be sure not to overfill your brush!

1

Don't use too much!

Start by brushing excess paint off of your brush and back into the original container.

2

clear excess paint

Be sure the bristles are facing downwards as you rinse!

3

Rinse with water + Soap

Run your fingers over the bristles a few times to “flick” the excess water back into the sink.

4

Remove excess water

Leave the brush with the bristles hanging over the edge of your sink for at least 12-18 hours before returning to storage.

5

air dry, then store

THAT'S IT!

With proper care, a quality paintbrush can last you for years!
