Prep Walls

- Remove existing tile - Patch any drywall damage, or replace drywall as needed - Clean walls

Apply Thinset

Use your tiling trowel to apply thinset to the wall, using the notches to create grooves.

Place Tiles

Use the spacers to help the lines between the tiles remain consistent and even.

Cut as Needed

You may need to make cuts around outlets, in corners, or near the top of your backsplash.

Remove Spacers

Once thinset dries, remove your spacers and clean any thinset that made it onto the face of the tiles before grouting.

Apply Grout

Use the grout float and press into the spaces between tiles at a 45-degree angle. Work in 3' square sections.

Clean Haze

After grouting a section, allow it to dry for about 5 minutes, then use a damp sponge to clean excess grout off the tile.

Caulk Edges

Finally, you'll need to caulk anywhere the tile meets countertops or other walls.
