2024 Gift Guide: For the Kids
Finding the perfect gift for kids can be tricky, especially when you want something a little unique. This gift guide is packed with unique ideas that inspire creativity, learning, and hours of enjoyment.
Every year, the kids’ gift guide is probably the one I’m the most proud of. I absolutely love shopping for unique and creative gifts for the kids. It seems like every year, their wish lists are typically full of toys that I know they’ll get tired of in a few months. So, I always try to think outside the box and find them some gifts that I know will stand the test of time. And, not to brag or anything, but I’m pretty good at it.
So, if you’re looking for some ideas to supplement the standard gifts that your kids are asking for, you’ve come to the right place. Welcome to the 2024 kids’ gift guide! You’ll find that I put a focus on gifts that can be considered educational, and are likely to keep them occupied for a while. You’re welcome.
The Best Gifts For Your Kids This Christmas
Clue Escape Room Game
Jackson is in love with these games, and Corey and I have a blast playing them with him! There are a few in the series, and they make a great gift the whole family will enjoy. I’ve got two in my cart for Jackson!
Instant Print Camera
I’m seriously considering grabbing one of these for each of my kids this Christmas! They LOVE taking pictures but all of the kid cameras I’ve bought in the past print terrible photos. I love that these are high quality but the camera isn’t pricey. Win win!
Foil Fun
I’m always looking for fun and simple crafty ideas for my kids, and I think they’d have a blast with this! It looks simple enough that my youngest could do it, but engaging enough for the older one, too.
Gumball Machine Maker
How fun is this?! Grant is obsessed with both gumballs and marble runs, so I have a feeling this would be a major hit in our house.
Play Doh Ice Cream Playset
Never underestimate the joy-inducing power of a good Play Doh set! My kids tend to forger about Play Doh for a while and then they find a renewed fervor for it and will play for hours. This kit is on Grant’s wish list this year!
A Piggy Bank
I hadn’t planned on including this on the list but Grant saw it over my shoulder and shouted “MOM! I want one of those so bad!” so I guess it has to be on here. Noted and added to cart.
Light Board & Tracing Pad
We had a tracing pad for Jackson years ago that got lost during our move to this house. He used to play with it for hours on end tracing and coloring photos. I think we might need a replacement!
Flipside Game
Corey grabbed this for our kids a few months back and I’m amazed at how good they are at it. It’s a really fun puzzle game that kind of breaks my brain every time I try to play it – but the kids love it!
Bitzee
I hadn’t heard of these until Grant started begging for one for Christmas. They’re adorable and they look like a lot of fun. He’s going to find one under the tree this year, for sure.
Smart Globe Toy
Don’t tell him but I have this tucked away in my closet for Grant this year! I think it’s going to be such a fun toy that incorporates a lot of learning with his natural curiosity. Again, my favorite kind of gift!
Scratch Art Book
Scratch art is a mega hit with my kids every single time. I gift them some form of scratch art paper every year and it’s always the first thing they play with.
Claw Machine
Grant got one of these for his birthday and when I tell you it was a huge hit…my goodness. I got one for my best friend’s son a couple of months ago and she texted later to say it was one of his favorite gifts. I don’t think there’s a kid alive who wouldn’t love their own claw machine.
Super Skills Game
I think I’m going to grab this for Jackson – I think we could have a lot of fun with this! I love games like this that let you play just a round or two and that get everyone involved and laughing.
Microscope Kit
Microscopes are always a hit with kids, right?! I think this would be a such a fun gift to find under the tree – plus I love any gift that is secretly a little educational.
Velcro Ball Toss Game
Do you remember playing with this for hours upon hours as a kid? Because I do, and I have a feeling most kids today would be similarly enthralled with it!
Personalized Blanket
I’m obsessed with these. We’re a big blanket family and I feel like the kids are always fighting over their favorites. Wouldn’t it be so fun to have some personalized name blankets waiting for them under the tree?
Find & Seek Scavenger Hunt Game
This is gonna get tucked into Grant’s stocking this year! I think it looks like such a fun game and it’s the perfect thing to toss their way when they complain about being bored.
Dinosaur Terrarium Kit
Perfect for the kid who is begging for a reptile pet of some sort and you just aren’t ready. My kid. I’m talking about my kid. He wants a snake and maybe he’ll just get a dinosaur terrarium instead.
Snap Circuit Set
This is SUCH a fun gift idea – Jackson got one when he was younger and he played with it so much (and then the Tiny Destroyer came along and most of the pieces got lost). It’s another educational toy that your kids are sure to love.
Water Doodle Mat
I had one of these when Grant was a toddler and I cannot even begin to tell you how much it got played with. Both my kids have outgrown these now but when they were little it was one of our most played with toys. The best part? It’s mess free, other than just some water!
Stained Glass Dinosaur Craft
This is another really fun craft – my kids love doing these little sun catcher things, and I remember making them when I was a kid too! The dinosaur ones are adorable, and I think this would make a really fun stocking stuffer.
Spin Art Machine
A classic toy that I remember playing with as a kid that is still a hit today! You’ve gotta be willing to deal with a bit of a mess and do some prep work, but it’ll keep the kids occupied for a long time.
Uno Attack
The amount of laughter that happens in my house when this game is brought out is unmatched. Uno is one of our favorite games already and this takes it to a whole new level. It’s always a winner.
Play Tent
Forts and tents are always a huge hit. I think this one is pretty enough that it could easily be left out all the time! If you want something a little easier to store, this one is a huge hit in our house.
Klutz Book of Paper Airplanes
I got this for Jackson for his birthday and he has had so much fun learning how to fold different types of paper airplanes! He’s had it for close to a year now and still uses it pretty regularly, so I consider it a bit hit.
Mini Karaoke Set
I got this for Grant for Christmas and he is absolutely in love with it. I love how small and portable it is, and watching them have a blast with it is always so fun for me. This is definitely the noisiest gift on the list, but it’s just music, at least!
Gravity Maze
This is my absolute favorite category of gift for kids – something that’ll occupy them for a long time that also happens to be good for their brains! I think my kids would have an absolute blast with this.
