How to Use a Miter Saw

New to power tools? here are some tips. 

WHAT IS A MITER SAW?

A miter saw (also called a chop saw) is a tool that makes crosscuts and angled cuts in wood.

MITER GAUGE

A miter cut is an angled cut made across the width (or face) of a board. A bevel cut is an angled cut made through the thickness of a board A cross cut is a straight cut across the face of a board.

HOW TO USE IT

To use a miter saw, simply mark where you want to cut the wood, line it up and check the placement, then pull the trigger and slowly pull the saw down! 

SAFETY TIPS

- Don't forget to wear a mask and eye protection.

- Keep unplugged when not in use, and bolted or clamped to a table when using!

- Pull back long hair, don't wear loose clothing.

- Don't ever cross your arms over your body when cutting & keep hands away from the blade!
