March Recap + Favorite Things
Can I be honest with you? So far, 2025 has really been a doozy for us. There have been so many ups and downs and so much chaos that I feel a little like my head is spinning.
This month was, well, a lot. We went under contract on the sale of our home, found our dream home, participated in a bidding war, WON the bidding war, went through inspections on both homes…and then had our buyer back out.
Where we sit today at the end of March, things are feeling extraordinarily uncertain. We don’t know if we’ll get to keep our dream house. We don’t know if we’re going to sell our house anytime soon. Heck, some days I don’t even know if we’re going to move at all!
But, we keep putting one foot in front of the other and faking a good attitude until we make it because what else are you gonna do?
A few highlights from March:
- The sun finally came out, I got to use our new grill, I went on a bajillion walks, and I felt the sun on my skin for what felt like the first time in a year. Hallelujah!
- We’re officially a t-ball family and I kind of love it. I’m aware that as we get further into this whole thing it has the potential to take over our lives and I might not love it so much, but right now? It’s adorable and so much fun.
- We spent a few hours pretty much every weekend hanging out at my parents’ house while Corey held open houses at our house. I don’t love being displaced and the uncertainty of selling the house, but I sure did love the extra time with my parents to play games, hang out, and just be together.
- My kids discovered Yahtzee and I think we played it 100,000 times.
- Corey and I finished season 2 of Severance (perfection!) and devoured the entirety of The Pitt in just a couple of days. One of the best shows I’ve watched in a while! Oh, and I’m absolutely loving every second of White Lotus, of course.
March Favorite Things
- This cute ribbed shirt is going to be a staple for me all spring and summer. I ordered it in white and I loved it so much that I ended up with two more colors. It’s a fantastic price, the fit is so flattering, and it feels really high-quality. Can’t beat it!
- I teased Corey when he ordered this belt leash for our dogs, but I have to admit: I love it. It’s so easy to use and I love that it’s hands-free. I’ve been going on daily walks with Granger, who desperately needs to lose a few pounds, and this leash makes the whole thing much more enjoyable.
- I’ve had The Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley on my to-read list for a lonnnng time, and I finally got around to it this month. HOLY COW, what a great story. It feels a little like White Lotus in novel form, in the best possible way. It was twisty and intriguing and I couldn’t put it down. Loved every single second of this one!
- I discovered these protein-packed pop-tarts on a whim at the gas station one day, and now I’m addicted. They’re not cheap, but they are such a great grab-and-go breakfast and they keep me full for hours and hours. I can find them a little cheaper at my grocery store sometimes, but I have to buy them individually. So, I splurged on a big box of them and I love having a whole stash in the pantry.
- I got this PopSocket wallet for my phone back in October and I’m still loving it so much. It holds my drivers’ license and my credit card, which means that I can often get away with not even carrying my purse! The cards feel super secure in the wallet but they’re still easy to get out, and the PopSocket is a really great fidget, too.
- I’ve been eyeing these bright red sneakers for a while now and spring felt like the perfect time to grab ’em. They’re really comfy (I added my favorite plantar fasciitis friendly inserts) and they’re such a fun pop of color for any outfit.
- I ordered these wide-leg jeans on a total whim when I stumbled on them, because I’ve been hunting for the perfect baggy-but-not-too-baggy jeans for a while now. I LOVE them. They fit well around the waist and butt, so they’re flattering. But, the legs are nice and wide, so they feel stylish and super comfy. I’ve been wearing them a ton lately.
- I found the perfect baseball cap and it’s only $10. I have a very large head and it’s really hard to find caps that look good on me, but this one sits nice and low on my head and doesn’t make me look weird. I ordered the beige one first, and I loved it so much that I also grabbed it in green!
- I’ve wanted to try a weighted vest for months now, and since the weather is finally warming up I decided to go for it. I got it this week and I’ve gone for a 25-ish minute walk with it every day since I got it. It adds a little bit of extra effort to my walks and makes me feel like I’m actually working out! I started with 10% of my body weight, and I’m hoping that after I use it for a few months I can bump up to something heavier.
- Jackson and I have been reading the Lemoncello Library book series since December, and it’s such a cute series that we can both enjoy! We just finished up the third book in the series, and we’re taking a break from the series to read Hunger Games. But, I highly recommend it for anyone with late elementary or early middle school aged kiddos. It’s a little like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory if Willy Wonka were a librarian!
- I ordered these compression-style socks a while back when I was having some more intense plantar fasciitis pain, and they’ve become my go-to for most days. They feel so supportive on my feet and they’re really great for days when I know I’ll be walking a lot.
- And finally, the best-smelling room spray in the world has come in clutch so many times as we’ve got our house on the market. I walk through the entire house and spray this in every single room before we leave for showings! It leaves the house smelling fresh and clean and wonderful, and I think it’s a staple in pretty much every home.
