Finding a New Shower Caddy For Our Shower

You know what I can’t seem to make work in my house? A shower caddy. Over the almost 5 years we’ve lived here, I think I’ve replaced our shower caddies at least four times. The problem is rarely the shower caddies themselves, but rather the way they attach to the shower wall. Over time, the little hook will break. And then the shower caddies fall, spilling my stuff everywhere. And then I live in chaos for a few months before I try again.

Rinse and repeat. Over and over and over.

Well, it happened again. For the last three-ish months I’ve been living with my shampoo and body soap on the shower floor. And I’m tired of it. And this time, I’m determined to find one that’s going to last.

I’ve been doing lots of research and shopping and planning and I’m ready to give it another go.

So, what’s different about these versus all of the other ones I’ve tried? A couple of things – the big one is that there are FIVE of them. Previously, I’ve only had one or two little shower organizers. That means there’s more stuff in each one, and it has more wear and tear over time. With all the added pressure on the connectors, things tended to break quicker. I’m hopeful that with five caddies, things will be a little more spread out and it’ll last longer. We’ll see?

Installing these shower caddies is always really simple. Most of the ones I’ve used have the same method – a large plastic adhesive piece with plastic hooks on it. You simply peel the backing off the adhesive and stick it to the shower wall!

The piece that’s always broken off for me is the plastic connectors that hook to the shower caddy. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this time they’ll last a little better. But, as always, we’ll see.
