Our New Current Electric Grill
If you’ve ever met my husband, you’ll know he’s a foodie. He loves thinking about food, he loves talking about food, and he loves cooking food. But what he maybe loves most of all is grilling food. So, when I recently had the opportunity to try out Current’s new Dual-Zone Electric Grill, I knew we had to go for it. It was also a good motivation to finally start thinking about how we want to set up the grilling area at our house because our current situation is a bit, um, lackluster.
We still have a looooong way to go out here (and I’m hoping to really put some effort in this spring), but I’ve gotta say I love a grill that actually looks nice out on the patio!
So, let’s talk a bit about our new Current electric grill and why we’re so obsessed with it, then I’ll give you a little rundown about what I’m thinking of for for this space.
Current Dual-Zone Electric Grill
I think it’s safe to say my favorite thing about this new grill is how easy it is to use. As much as Corey loves to cook, he works a lot. He often isn’t home to prep dinner, and that means it falls on me more often than not. We love grilling and eating grilled foods, but I just haven’t wanted to learn how to use the grills we’ve had in the past. This one, however? I’ll use it all day long. In fact, I set it up completely by myself and proceeded to cook dinner on it without asking Corey a single question. That would have been impossible for me on any of the other grills we’ve owned!
Here’s a quick rundown of some features that I think make this grill particularly special:
- It’s Wi-fi enabled and has an app. You can basically set it up and walk away. You can even use the temperature probe to have it tell you when you need to flip the food!
- Monitoring everything from the app is so easy. It tells you what the temperature of the grill is, and lets you control things from the app.
- It has dual heating zones, which means I can cook multiple things at once! I need easy when I’m cooking, so being able to throw veggies on one side and meat on the other is such a win.
- It has a self-cleaning feature which means I don’t have to spend time scrubbing every time I use it.
There’s even more, but you get the idea. This grill is so easy to use and for a grilling newbie like myself, that’s the biggest draw! Corey is really excited to play around with the custom-fit flavor trays to smoke or braise some meat, too.
Basically, we’re a little like kids with a new toy right now.
Now that the weather is warming up, we’ve been grilling outside most nights, and it’s been so nice! There’s something so special about the feeling of cooking outside while the kids jump on the trampoline. It just feels like spring!
Our Grill Area Plans
Let’s talk a little about what we’re actually planning for this corner of our backyard. We expanded our patio shortly after moving in but we haven’t actually done anything with it because we’ve never really been able to land on a solid plan.
The first order of business for this side of the patio is getting some shade. Our backyard gets hot in the afternoons, and we’ve officially accepted that we won’t fully utilize this space until it’s a little more comfortable to be in. I’ve been eyeing something like this for an affordable and easy solution, and I think it’ll work really well!
Once some shade is in place, I want to add a small table so we can eat outside a little more comfortably. Sometimes we’ll all pile on the couch, but it doesn’t really work with the dogs and it’s just not that easy.
After the basics are in, we can add in maybe a cozy rug, some accessories, and a plant or two!
I think with just a small amount of effort this side of our patio can be so much more functional, and getting this grill has finally motivated me enough to actually do something about it. I’ve got the pergola in my cart right now and I think this is the month I finally make it happen. Stay tuned, because I’m hopeful that we’ll have a way more functional yard by the time summer rolls around!
