Readers’ Favorite Things of 2022
It’s that time of year when we start reflecting on aaaaall we did this year. I’ve been pouring over all of our photographs from the year, prepping a big blog post reviewing all of our projects, and digging into analytics to see what sorts of things you loved this year!
Every month I round up a few of my favorite things and I share what you clicked on and purchased the most…but I thought what we really needed to see is what made the top of the list for the whole year. The best of 2022. And, bonus, most of them ship quickly so there’s still plenty of time to snag a few things as last-minute Christmas gifts.
Even if they’re just gifts for yourself!
- Fanny Pack – I discovered this little fanny pack when we were going on our summer vacation and I wanted something easy to keep track of. It quickly became a favorite and I use it all the time.
- Paintable outlet covers – These were the #1 purchased item all year long, with twice as many purchases as the next item on the list! I can see why – they’re one of my very favorite things. They help any outlet disappear, and I have them all over my house.
- Plant moisture meter – Half my plants would be dead today if it wasn’t for this guy. I use it all the time for new plants when I haven’t figured out their watering schedule yet. It’s great for newbie plant parents and experienced ones.
- Lefty/Righty Tape Measure – I will always and forever rave about this tape measure. I even wrote a whole blog post about it.
- Two-Tier Plastic Drawers – I bought a lot of these this year. Corey and I both have some in our bathroom vanity, I use them to organize our medicine, and I feel like every few weeks I think up another good use for them!
- Wet & Forget Shower Cleaner – I bought this stuff earlier this year because I was looking for an easy solution to keep my shower cleaner. It was the #1 cleaning product on Amazon, so I had to try it! I quickly fell in love and I use it weekly on my shower now.
- Latex Paint Remover – We all discovered this when I was working on Grant’s room makeover and I got some paint on a few different places. It removed paint from Grant’s bed, the floor downstairs, the carpet, and even a pair of jeans! This stuff is literal magic.
- Under Eye Patches – These are my go to for tired eyes. Which I have often. I reach for these all the time when I need a little pick me up, and they always help quite a bit.
- Nature’s Miracle Urine Destroyer – I was recommended this by a bunch of you on Instagram when I was looking for a solution for a really hard-to-get-rid-of urine smell in our carpet upstairs. You all swore it would work, and you’re right. I use it constantly now.
- Vanicream facial cleanser – I started using Vanicream over the summer when I was dealing with a really nasty rash on my face. It’s a super clean and hypoallergenic face wash, and I will never ever go back. Turns out, a lot of you also have been looking for something simpler for your skincare routine, and this was a huge hit! The best part? It’s super affordable!
- Scrub Daddy PowerPaste – If I had to choose only one cleaning product to use for the rest of my life, it would probably be this. It’s a tiny little miracle worker, and I reach for it every single day.
- Scalp Massager – I discovered this little guy while I was doing research for one of my “best of Amazon” posts. Many of you swear by using it while shampooing, but that wasn’t my favorite use. My personal favorite way to use it? To distribute my dry shampoo! It works so much better than my hands, and it feels great.
- I Dissent Sweatshirt – I love that this is the only clothing item that made it to the top 16. That’s really all I need to say about that.
- Flameless Candles – It’s impressive that these are in the top of the pack, because I didn’t even discover them until a couple of weeks ago! We put these on our dining room table and we’ve had a candlelit dinner every night since. It’s the actual best – they’re so realistic, and add so much ambiance!
- Toothbrush Holder – This little toothbrush holder is a game changer for any kid bathroom. It keeps the toothbrushes clean and out of the way, and it helps dispense the toothpaste for you so the kids are no longer making a mess everywhere. I can’t imagine life without it anymore!
- Paint by Number – This was one of the most fun things I did all year long. I have wanted to do a paint by number for quite some time, and I finally indulged myself. I’m so glad I did, because it’s hands down my favorite piece of art in the house!
And that’s a wrap on your favorite products of 2022! It was so fun to dig in and find all of these. Most of them did not surprise me, but a few did (who knew my favorite sweatshirt would make the list?!).
I’ll catch you back here on Monday for one more wrap-up post, where we’ll take a look back at aaaaaall the top projects from the year!
Nice post
