My New Office (And Some Cozy Traditional Office Inspiration!)
Meet my new home office – and come with me to see all of the cozy traditional office inspiration I’ve been gathering for it!

When we walked through this home for the first time, I was in love pretty quickly. But, when I rounded the corner and it hit me that this room would be my office? I was a goner.
I’m obsessed with windows and natural light. I never turn on the big light unless absolutely necessary, and having a pretty view while I work was one of my top desires for my home office. This one checks every single box and then some. I mean, I’ve got my own exterior door that leads to my own mini patio. I couldn’t possibly ask for more!

You’ve already seen this space in my initial home tour when we moved in, but now that we’ve been here a few days and have settled a bit, I wanted to give you a deeper dive on this space and my plans for it!
I’ve been working on setting things up this week – it’s currently complete chaos – and it’s getting me really excited. I’m not quite ready to dive into any full-room makeovers in this house yet (I’m taking my time here!), but I do have lots of ideas. I mean, I’ve never had a full office all to myself before, so I’ve been dreaming about this for a long time!
Inspiration for My New Office
I put together a little mood board to help keep me on track as I plan my office makeover. This is the general direction I plan on heading. Some things on this board I’ve already purchased (like the desk and chair!), and some things are just what I’m currently eyeing. I feel really solid about this plan, though, and I think it’s safe to say the finished product will probably look pretty similar to what you see here!

- Desk Lamp
- Book Framed Art
- Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore (thinking of this for the trim!)
- Billy Bookcase
- Loveseat
- Faux Flowers
- Black Side Table
- Desk Chair
- Area Rug
- Sit/Stand Desk
I’m feeling really excited to work on this space and watch it evolve over time! I grabbed the BILLY bookcases from IKEA yesterday and have already started setting them up. I think that alone is going to make a massive difference in how this entire space feels! And it will allow me to actually get all of the boxes unpacked now that I finally have a place to store things!

For now, my plan is to simply get the office set up. I’ll finish installing the bookcases (I got doors for the bottom and extension pieces for the top), and get things unpacked and organized. Then, I’ll circle back to actually paint and decorate a bit later in the year. It’s going to feel so good just to get it set up!
