All of the (Non-White!) Bedding I’m Currently Eyeing
Tired of the all-white bedding trend? I’ve got you covered today with some gorgeous non-white bedding options that I’ve been eyeing for my own home.
I don’t know if this happens to you, but every time I move into a new home I find my style shifting along with the move. I think part of it is just normal growth and change that happens over time. But, I think a larger part of it is that each home has a personality. What works beautifully in one home might feel jarring or out of place in another.
That’s why it’s so important to “listen to your house” and make sure that the choices you’re making align with the personality and vibe of your specific home. It’s one of those things that can be hard to put a finger on, but when you see it, you know. Have you ever been in a home where the decor was beautiful but it all just felt… off? I get that vibe sometimes when I’m in an older home that has been too modernized. Or, a super sleek and modern home that’s trying too hard to feel vintage!
All that to say, our new home is not a modern gal. She’s aaaaaaall vintage and traditional and cozy and welcoming. She’s not interested in keeping up with the Joneses – she knows who she is and she’s proud of it.

So, as I’ve been thinking about decorating this new home, re-using the exact modern traditional (and mostly white) bedding that we’ve had for years just feels like a bad fit. All-white bedding is a little fussy. It’s more modern and sleek…and not at all what my house seems to be calling out for.
I’m not in any rush to make big changes (we’re gonna be here for a LONG TIME!), but I do think it’s important to make the bedrooms feel cozy as quickly as possible. So, I’ve been doing a lot of window shopping and plotting. And, well, I’ve got ideas.

I have a zillion ideas floating around and I can’t white nail down exactly what I want. But, I did grab this deep green duvet cover on a whim right before we moved in and I really love it (you can see it up at the top of this post!). But, I haven’t decided where to go from here. I love a layered look, so I am on the hunt for the perfect blanket to pair with it. And, I’m thinking a couple of throw pillows to add some depth would be nice, too.
I haven’t made any decisions yet but I do think I might order a few things this week and play around. Because sometimes you’ve just got to get it all in place to really get a feel for what works!
