Weekly Wrap-Up

Home

How was your week? I mentioned yesterday on Instagram that it had been rough for me and I heard from so many of you who struggled this week too!

Mid-way through this week, I was talking with Corey and told him that this week I was deeply feeling every single second of the last 8 months that we’ve been doing this whole “stay away from people” thing. I love the extra family time we’ve gotten, but I also can’t stop thinking about the fact that in 8 months I haven’t had more than an hour or two away from my kids and I haven’t been really and truly alone at all.

As an introvert who thrives on time alone to process things…it’s a lot.

I’m not here to complain today – I’m aware that we’re beyond privileged to keep our kiddos at home, work from home, and can still support our family. But, my goodness, this week I just felt like I needed a moment to breathe! I think we’ve all been there at some point (or many points) in 2020, so if you’re feeling overwhelmed and you aren’t sure why, or if you’re feeling a strong urge to climb in bed and watch junk television for 8 hours straight, just know I see you and I’m with you.

We can do this!

I plan to spend my weekend in my pajamas, working on the hardest puzzle ever. What are your plans?

Despite my feelings of overwhelm this week, it was a really fun week on the blog and on Instagram! I started (and finished!) a DIY art ledge for our living room, and we finally managed to run our television cords through the wall in our bedroom so I don’t have to side eye it every time I’m in there! Over on Instagram stories I’ve been working on a little front porch refresh for next week (I’m hoping to share on Monday!).

Stay tuned next week on stories because Corey and I are going to be tackling a project together (it’s been a while since we did that!), and it’s going to be a really fun one!

elsewhere on the internet…

  • These DIY velvet pumpkins are so, so cute.
  • I feel like I need this jacket.
  • Every single detail of this space is so, so good.
  • I loved following Erin paint her porch on Instagram, and the reveal is so SO good!
  • I’ve never wanted to decorate my house for Halloween before, but this? This might convince me.
  • I got some of this flatware for my birthday and just ordered more so I have a full set!
  • This might be the most beautiful jigsaw puzzle ever.
