The 10 Best Fall Crafts for Girls’ Night
I love having some friends over for a good craft night – today I’m sharing a few of my favorite fall craft ideas for adults. These are perfect for your next girls’ night, or just for a cozy night in!
If you’re looking for a fun way to celebrate the fall season and connect with your friends, I’ve got you covered. For a few years now, I’ve hosted seasonal crafting nights at my house, and it’s always one of my absolute favorite things to do. You can ask everyone to bring supplies or you can grab the materials and have everyone bring snacks. However you set it up, it’s a really easy and unique way to celebrate the season with friends, and I’d argue that adults don’t get nearly enough crafting time!

Any one of them would be incredibly easy to set up and execute, and they’re perfect for beginner crafters and experts alike!

10 Simple Fall Crafts for Girls’ Night
1. Air Dry Clay Ghosts
Air dry clay is a perfect craft for everyone because it’s so easy to work with! Grab a couple of bins of white air dry clay and set them out and let everyone have fun making ghosts, or ghost pumpkins! Find the tutorial here. You can also make spoon rests or pinch bowls!
Just a note that this takes about 24 hours to dry, so you won’t be able to paint your projects right away! If you want to, consider using polymer clay instead!
2. Faux Terra Cotta Pumpkins
I was inspired to try these a few years ago because I kept seeing these gorgeous terra cotta pumpkins at all the stores, but they were so expensive. I knew it couldn’t be that hard to make them, so I gave it a shot. And it was SO easy! This would be a really fun craft to try with friends over a glass of wine. It’s quick and easy, and pretty foolproof.
3. Painted Haunted Houses
I recently had a few friends over to do this and it was such a blast. We just grabbed some wooden Halloween houses from Michael’s (you can find them on Amazon too) and set out a bunch of acrylic paints.
This is my favorite kind of low-key girls night, because everyone can work at their own pace and get creative, and it requires very little concentration to paint.
4. Painted Pumpkins
If you’re close enough to Halloween for real pumpkins, you can do that for this one! Or, you can grab some craft pumpkins so they last year after year. I wrote a post with tons of painted pumpkin ideas last year. This is a great option if you want to involve the kids, too!
Setup for this would be incredibly easy, just like the haunted houses. Toss out some pumpkins and acrylic paints, and maybe print out some ideas for people to use. I recommend having more than one pumpkin for each person, since it’ll go pretty fast!
5. DIY Fall Icon Glasses
This is a craft I just tried for the first time this month and I think I’m going to be doing it for pretty much every season! These icon glasses are everywhere right now but they can be so pricey, so this is a really fun alternative. Plus, you can really customize them!

6. Decoupage Pumpkins
This is another project I tried for the first time this year and I am obsessed. You can have a ton of fun with this one by buying a bunch of different paper napkin patterns to set out. This is a great craft option for less crafty people, since it’s pretty hard to mess up!
7. Disco Ball Cauldron
I made this disco cauldron years ago, and it’s still one of my favorite Halloween decorations to pull out. It’s so unique and fun, and if you’re able to set it near a window that gets direct sun, it creates the prettiest light all over the house!
I recommend grabbing a few hot glue guns to set out for this one so multiple people can be working at once! You can learn how to make a disco ball cauldron right here.
8. Painted Dollar Store Pumpkins
This was one of the first fall crafts I ever tried, back when my oldest was a baby and I was just figuring out what I liked to do for seasonal decor. I grabbed a bunch of ugly pumpkins from the dollar store and spray painted them, and I still use them nearly than a decade later! If you’re doing it for a craft night I recommend acrylic paint over spray paint, since it dries faster and is much less messy!
A couple of years ago I also revisited this project with a stone-look painting treatment, and I love it just as much (maybe more).
9. Decorated Sugar Cookies
Typically people associate decorated cookies with Christmas, but we have a tradition of decorating sugar cookies every year for Halloween, too! It’s not a craft necessarily, but it’s maybe even more fun since you can snack on your craft while you work!
This is a project that’ll make you feel like kids again, and your own kids will be jealous when you get home. Of course, you could also make it a kid-friendly craft night if you’re willing to deal with a little extra mess!
10. Spooky Thrift Store Paintings
And finally – this was my first ever girls craft night I hosted! Have everyone bring a painting from the thrift store (or do what I did and buy a pack on Amazon) and set out paints. Everyone can add spooky touches to their paintings. It’s simpler than you might think, and it makes for a really fun craft night!
