7 Interior Paint Colors I’ll Use Again and Again
Looking for good interior paint colors for your home that will stand the test of time? Here are seven paint colors I used in this home that I can say with confidence I’ll use over and over again!
As we’ve been prepping to move over the last few months, it has definitely caused me to do a lot of reflecting. I’m thinking back on the choices we made in our third house. What would we do again? Are there any projects I’d never repeat? What lessons can we take with us as we head into our next home?
All three of the homes we’ve owned so far have had very different vibes and choices made – I firmly believe that every house has its own personality! So, while I definitely won’t be copying and pasting anything from this house directly into the next one, there are definitely some choices we’ve made that I can see myself repeating. And interior paint colors is likely one of those choices.
Painting is my absolute favorite way to make a difference in my home. I can pretty much guarantee you that my first project in our new house will end up being a painting project…and, it’s entirely possible that I’ll choose to use one of these seven colors.
Seven Interior Paint Colors I Will Definitely Use Again
First Star by Sherwin Williams

This paint color was a happy accident for us, actually. Most of the homes in our neighborhood are painted Accessible Beige (also by Sherwin Williams) throughout the interior. It’s a great color, and I think we would have been very happy with it. But, our builder went with First Star instead and it truly is the best white paint color I’ve ever had in a home. It feels perfectly neutral and not too cold. We get a ton of natural light in our main living space, and it looks gorgeous both when the sun is shining directly on it and in the evenings when we turn on all of the lamps. I wrote a whole blog post about my love for First Star, so check it out if you want more information!
Black Evergreen by Behr

I’ve said this before, but Black Evergreen is a color that Corey and I fell in love with on a paint swatch months before we moved into this house. We declared it had to be the color for our bonus room, and we stuck with it. I’m so glad we did because it’s truly the perfect dark green paint color. Not only is it one of my favorite interior paint colors, we also used it on a backyard playhouse and it was stunning!
I love how warm and enveloping this color is, and I can think of about 10 different spaces I’d be happy to use it. I keep envisioning it in an office (on some built-ins? I’m swooning!), and I think it would be gorgeous on furniture or cabinets as well.
Sculptor’s Clay by Behr

RGB: 204 / 195 / 180
I chose this color for our bathroom cabinets based on the recommendation of a bunch of my Instagram friends. It’s a really fantastic neutral beige color, and I get asked about it almost every time I share photos of our bathroom.
This is hands down one of the best colors you can choose for your cabinets if you’re looking for a good beige. I think it would be a great option for walls, too! I could see myself using this color for built-ins (especially in a living room or office), and it might even be a good option for our bedroom if I decide to lean into a lighter color this time around (that’s TBD!).
Ink Black by Behr
The Stats:
N490-7
LRV: 7
RGB: 69 / 73 / 77
This is hands down the number one paint color I get asked about in our house. In fact, I think it’s safe to say it’s the most-asked-about color I’ve ever used. It’s truly such a show-stopping navy blue paint color, and I am madly and deeply in love with it.
This color definitely leans much more blue than black, especially if your space has a fair amount of natural light. But, it’s really dark and cozy, and it’s pretty much guaranteed to make every space feel like a big giant hug. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t sincerely tempted to use this paint color in our bedroom again at the next house! But, I want our next room to have its own identity, so I think if (when!) I repeat this paint color, I’ll likely use it elsewhere. You can see my full breakdown of Ink Black right here!
Tricorn Black by Sherwin Williams

LRV: 3
RGB: 47 / 47 / 48
If I could only use one black paint color for the rest of all time, this would be it. Easy choice! It’s more or less the perfect black paint. It’s a true black and doesn’t lean too far in any specific direction, so it works well with pretty much any other color. We used this paint color on our back door and a few other accents and it’s a paint color I will reach for again and again.
This paint color would be an easy choice for cabinetry or furniture, but if you really want to go bold and paint an accent wall or a whole room black, this color is the way to go. I wrote a whole blog post breaking down everything you need to know about Tricorn Black, so check that out if you’re considering it!
Bonsai Trunk by Behr
The Stats:
N380-6
LRV: 15
RGB: 108 / 109 / 98
I chose this color for our entry after testing a ton of different options, and it’s one of the paint colors I’m most proud of in our house! It’s a really gorgeous moody green color with lots of gray. I would absolutely use this color in just about any room in my house. Honestly, you can’t really go wrong with it.
I think this color is one that I would like to feature a little more heavily in our next house. It’s only in a very small area of our home right now, but it’s such a beautiful color that I think it needs to be in a larger space! In fact, I think it would make a gorgeous bedroom color! Bonsai Trunk would also be a really beautiful option for cabinetry or furniture. Oooh, or maybe the dining room?! Safe to say I’ll definitely be using this one again.
On Point by Clare

And finally, I landed on On Point for our upstairs hallway when the first color I chose didn’t work out. It was a bit of a risk because I painted it without testing it out (and that doesn’t usually go well). But, I ended up absolutely loving it. I think it’s a pretty perfect neutral paint color and I could see myself using this all over my house.
On Point has a really warm and cozy vibe. It can shift a bit depending on the time of day and how much light it is getting. I have it right next to First Star, and they go together really nicely!
