Back Patio Inspiration for Spring
With the weather warming up and the first spring in our new home, I’m dreaming of some updates to our outdoor spaces! Today I’m gathering all of my back patio inspiration in one place. Maybe it’ll inspire you too!

I absolutely love our new backyard and covered patio. It was one of the (many) things that made us fall in love with our home when we were house hunting, and now that we’re experiencing our first spring here, I’m falling even more in love. We have plenty of privacy, there’s lots of great landscaping already happening, and the whole place is oozing with potential.
We got really lucky with a yard that’s already had a lot of work done, and that’s really functional as it is. But, I’ve got big dreams for this space, and I want to make it so that we can really enjoy it as much as possible all year long. Eventually I’d love to:
Backyard Patio Ideas
- Add a small patio for the grill, complete with a pergola for shade
- Create a focal point around the small fire pit Corey got this winter.
- Recover the in-rough-shape concrete patio with tile or natural stone.
- Add a trellis + vines on the side of the house.
- Make the stone fireplace wall more of a focal point rather than an eyesore.
- Raise the awning significantly to let in more natural light.
Plus a ton of other things. But, for now, we’re working with what we’ve got in our outdoor area and what we’ve got is… not much.
We didn’t bring much for the backyard with us from our previous house because, well, we didn’t have a lot! Currently, we’ve got an outdoor dining space with a big ol’ table and chairs. I’ve got a big lounge chair on my small side patio that’s the perfect place to work outside, but that’s it. We need some more zones back here to make our patio space more usable.
I’ve been doing a lot of browsing for the patio lately, and I wanted to share what I’m finding and what I’m thinking. I don’t know if I’ll get to all of this in 2026, but a girl can dream, right?!
Affordable Back Patio Inspiration from Amazon

- Outdoor Sofa – I love the wood frame on this one! Add some colorful throw pillows and it would be so cute.
- Outdoor Coffee Table– This coffee table kinda feels like it could go inside or out.
- Black and White Rug – I have this rug under our outdoor dining table and I love the pattern! Possibly need more rugs for my side patio and the outdoor living room area.
- Faux Geraniums – Because there’s zero shame in using faux flowers on the patio.
- Side Table – Loveeeee the stone look!
- Hammock + Frame – I’m 100% ordering this soon for the backyard. It’s a must.
- Side Chair – The cushions echo my big egg chair I already have, and would go great with the sofa!
- 12″ Planter – I definitely need some more plants out there.
- Plastic Drinking Glasses – We definitely need some drinking cups that aren’t glass.
- Melamine Plates – I’m in love with these! They add the perfect whimsical touch.
- Cordless Lamps – For cozy evening vibes!
- Outdoor Buffet – I really want to get some storage on the patio for outdoor dishes!
I’ve got pretty much all of this in my cart right now. I plan to slowly add to the patio over the course of this year, and we’ll see where we land! I’m definitely going to hit “order” on the buffet, the plates, and the hammock in the next week or so, so be sure to stay tuned on Instagram to see how they turn out! I have so many patio design ideas floating around in my head, and I’m just itching to get started!
