I often get asked about which paint sprayer I like to use most, which ones I use for different types of projects, and how to choose one. So, I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to give you a closer look at all of the different options, how to choose one, and how to know what else you might want to try out too!

Sprayers + Painting Tools
A FLEXiO Paint Sprayer
I’ve been using Wagner’s FLEXiO line of paint sprayers for years and they’re always my go-to for any project. They’re reliable, versatile, and easy to use!
Anytime I get asked about what my favorite paint sprayer to use is, I immediately recommend the FLEXiO 3500. It comes with two nozzles to allow you to work on small and medium-sized projects (think furniture, small rooms, crafts, etc). And, it’s lighter than older models, which makes a big difference when you’re holding it for a long time!
One of my favorite things about FLEXiO paint sprayers is that they work without thinning the paint (or stain, or whatever you’re spraying). I always found the process of thinning it to the perfect consistency to be so stressful and I was never very good at it. So, it’s such a relief that I can just toss the paint or stain right into the sprayer directly from the can!
If you’re new to using a paint sprayer and are starting from scratch, the FLEXiO 3500 is definitely the one I’d recommend you start with! If you’re looking for something a little more specialty, the Control Stainer 350 is created specifically for spraying stain with less overspray. So, if you have a big staining job like a fence, it can be a great fit!

A High-Efficiency Airless Sprayer
·Have a big painting job coming up (or know someone who does)? A high-efficiency airless (or, HEA) sprayer might be a great fit! I used the Control Pro 130 when I painted our last house, and I can’t even begin to tell you how much easier it made things!
A big sprayer like this should be your go-to choice if you’re painting large interior rooms, big exterior spaces (like sheds or houses), or staining a large deck. It will make any big paint or stain job go so much faster, and it also works without thinning (which, again, is a HUGE help!).
This would be the perfect gift for the friend who just bought a new home and is itching to give it a new color, or for someone who has an old deck or large fence that’s in need of a refresh!

An EZ Roller {Or the Sidekick Power Roller}
If you aren’t ready to commit to a paint sprayer quite yet but you want to make your painting jobs easier, I highly recommend you consider an EZ Roller or my personal favorite, the Sidekick Power Roller!
These are both great gift ideas for anyone who has some rooms to paint because they’re something people often forget is an option – but they make a huge difference! An EZ Roller is just a paint roller that holds paint within the handle. So, you don’t have to mess with paint trays, bending over to fill it up, or the mess that comes afterwards! And, I know what you’re thinking – isn’t it a nightmare to clean? Honestly, it’s not all that bad! I personally think it’s 100% worth it to save the headache of dealing with paint trays and constantly refilling my roller!
And, if you’ve tried an EZ Roller and are ready for something a little more intense, the Sidekick Power Roller is my painting BFF. I break it out every time I need to paint a large room, and it cuts the job in half (at least)!
I promise, if you’ve got a friend or family member who is a new homeowner, or someone who has some renovations planned, either of these would be a perfect – and much appreciated – gift.

A Spray Shelter
If you choose to gift a FLEXiO sprayer for any gift-giving occasion, a spray shelter is a great accessory to go along with it!
These little tents help shield your surroundings from overspray, and they also do a great job of protecting your project from bits of dirt and leaves! I always get so frustrated painting on a windy day when little particles of junk get caught in my project, so a spray shelter can be a really big help.
There are a few different size options, so you can get the one that best fits what projects it’ll be used for most – or, if you know the ultimate DIY-er who is constantly working on projects both big and small, you could grab a couple of sizes so they’re always covered!

It’s suuuuch a helpful tool and I love that it can do some really deep cleaning without any harsh chemicals at all!
